Let me introduce myself
I’m Dr Scott Heather and I’ve been practising here in beautiful Buderim for just over 5 years. Since qualifying as a dentist in 1989 I’ve invested considerable time in attending advanced training so that the treatments I provide, and the techniques I use, are state of the art.
To make sure that I can provide state of the art care I’ve frequently travelled throughout Australia and overseas to keep to up-to-date with what’s happening in dentistry.
Because so many people are afraid of going to the dentist, I have developed a special interest in what is known as “sedation dentistry” and now I am one of the very few Sunshine Coast dentists qualified to perform it. It means I can make dentistry as painless as possible for you and your pocket. Treatment which used to take many hours or visits can now be done in just one short visit.
So who is my typical patient?
Because most of my patients live in the area (or used to and still come back to see me) I know the sort of dentistry they are looking for and I can make it as painless as possible for them and their pocket. Quite simply, if you are the right patient for me I know what you are looking for in dental care and I make sure that I give it… and I take the time to explain it so you can understand it too.
Typically my new patient sees me with an idea of what they want and asks me for the answers that maybe others have not been able to provide. Apart from taking care of you when you have a toothache (and we’re great at getting rid of the pain) you may want to know about…

A word about my team and my office
All of my team… my hygienist and care assistants, are all exceptionally motivated to look after you when come in for your dental care. They are well trained, highly skilled and want you to enjoy exceptional care. Although they’re very efficient they’re never too busy to get you a tea or coffee or explain things so that you know what’s happening. Quite simply, they really do care!
Located here in beautiful Buderim, our office is really “patient friendly”. It means I can offer the services that our patients want and that are right for them.
If you are worried about pain
Relax! I have great ways to make your experience as pain free as possible. Often, when I tell my patients that their treatment is finished they say, “But Dr Scott, it can’t be… I haven’t felt anything yet!” And if that isn’t reassuring enough, you can have some dreamy sedation that absolutely guarantees you won’t feel a thing.
Deciding what treatment is right for you.
When you first see me I’ll sit down and I’ll have a chat about what you want. Once I know that I’ll give you an idea of what’s involved and, if you like what you hear, I’ll pop you into the chair and have a thorough look at the condition of your mouth, teeth and gums, how they function and how they affect the way your smile looks.
Once that is done, I can sit down and discuss your options, what’s involved with each and the cost so that you can decide what you’d like to do. By the way, I would never recommend treatment that I wouldn’t do for myself, my wife or family. You will never feel pressured to receive treatment that you do not want.
What will it cost?
I am certainly not the cheapest dentist around, nor am I the most expensive. As with most things, you get what you pay for, so I offer great value— the right dentistry at the right price. We take credit cards too and, for major dental work and smile rejuvenations, you can spread the payments if you wish.
